AMERICAN CONGRESSMEN SUPPORTED UKRAINE AT WASHINGTON EXHIBITION – "UKROBORONPROM"

Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly and Director General of the State Concern “UkrOboronProm” Roman Romanov had a meeting with the member of the U.S. House Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives Doug Lamborn and with a member of the House Armed Services Committee, Representative of California’s 50th congressional district Duncan Hunter during the third day of the exhibition AUSA -2017.

Valeriy Chaly thanked congressmen for supporting Ukraine in opposing Russian aggression. In the framework of the US defense budget-2018 formation, the ambassador of Ukraine discussed with the congressmen the prospect of expanding assistance programs to Ukraine in the military-technical sector in the US defense budget-2018.

UKROBORONPROM Director General briefed Congressmen on the work of UOP enterprises and emphasized the prospects for development of the military and technical cooperation between Ukraine and the United States.

Hero of Ukraine and First Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Airborne Forces Major General Andriy Kovalchuk also took part in the meetings. Basing on his own combat experience, gained in the ongoing anti-terrorist operation in Donbas – informed Congressmen about the practical needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as regards the U.S. further military and technical assistance.
