UKROBORONPROM State Enterprise "Kharkiv Morozov Machine-Building Design Bureau" ended 2017 with 490+ mln UAH revenue.
The enterprise – specializing in the development of the latest models of armored vehicles and manufacturing the latest BTR-4 for Ukrainian Army – paid over 50 million UAH taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels last year.
Thanks to the work of the Kharkiv-Morozov design bureau, Ukrainian fighters received a batch of the newest BTR-4. These vehicles are equipped with Deutz engine, Allison transmission, protected by NATO armaments and equipped with a powerful 30-mm automatic gun, anti-tank missile system Barrier and other weapons.
BTR-4 is permanently used by Ukrainian Army, including in the ATO zone. Due to the constant contact of Kharkiv-Morozov design bureau with the military, 900+ improvements – basing on actual experience of operating the vehicle in the ATO zone, combat tasks fulfillment and comments of soldiers – were made.
Analysis of these data and NATO’s advanced trends implementation in the development of armored vehicles contributed to BTR-4MB1 constructing. Changes in the armored vehicle front, as well as technological solutions in line with the latest NATO armament trends, contributed to a fundamentally new BTR-4 protection.
When creating BTR-4MV1 developers used a modular approach in constructing armor protection, using spaced armor. Such a modular approach allows to quickly replace elements of the upper layer of armor in the field conditions. Thanks to these measures, BTR-4MB1 protection significantly exceeds any APC or IFV sample, Ukrainian defenders are armed with.
In 2017, this combat vehicle completed factory tests, and now the State Enterprise " Kharkiv Morozov Machine-Building Design Bureau" is waiting for a corresponding decision of the power agencies of Ukraine to carry out comprehensive BTR-4MB1tests directly by the Ukrainian military. This is a prerequisite for taking a new military vehicle into service, including in the State Defense Order, deployment of its serial production.
