The heads of leading British defence companies met with UOP leadership at “Arms and Security,” held in Kyiv.
During the meeting, UOP leadership demonstrated the reform strategy of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, which consists of corporatization, creating of supervisory boards, audit – involving international companies, – clustering of enterprises in key areas of defence, defending technology and innovation platform – UkrARPA to the heads of BAE Systems, GE Aviation, Marshall Aerospace and Defense Group, Heroux Devtek and other companies.
"One of the main UOP goals is to promote mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation in defence industry with the alliance members, including Britain. Due to initiated reform, common rules for investors will be set, defence industry of Ukraine will integrate into the world community ", – said Deputy Director General for Development Artur Kheruvymov.
He added that greatest attention was drawn to resolving legal barriers to cooperation expansion, as foreign companies are interested in joint projects and a new level of cooperation.
On the first day of the exhibition "Arms and Security" the SC "UkrOboronProm" had a number of meetings with key partners from NATO countries. For example, cooperation agreement on the manufacture of firearms between Slovak company Grand Power s.r.o. and UKROBORONPROM SE "Ukroboronservice"was signed. UKROBORONPROM state firm "Ukrinmash"and Turkish company Havelsan Hava Elektronik Sanayi signed cooperation agreement on production of passive radars at facilities of UOP enterprises.
