MSPO-2017 RESULTS: PREMIER OF UKRAINIAN-POLISH MILITARY EQUIPMENT AND NEW COOPERATION AGREEMENTS

State Concern "UkrOboronProm" took part in the largest Eastern Europe Defense Exhibition MSPO-2017, held in the city of Kielce (Poland). The Ukrainian defense industry complex represented dozens of exhibits from UOP enterprises-participants on the joint stand; among those – full-scale specimen of anti-tank weapon systems – used by Ukrainian army and imported by armies of other countries.

Most attention, global defense specialists, visitors and media representatives paid to the premiere products. At the 25th Military Exhibition MSPO the results of cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian Defense complexes were represented for the first time.

The latest PT-17 tank – the result of a T-72 modernization – was represented at MSPO-2017 to demonstrate its capabilities to a potential customer – the Ministry of Defense of Poland. For the implementation of this project, Ukroboronprom launched integration of the best Ukrainian technological developments, namely: UOP developed and supplied tank loader, a new engine, transmission, modernized engine transmission compartment, new 120mm caliber guns, fire control system, APU, active armor and a tower evaluation unit. All these units are developed in accordance with NATO standards, because today the Ministry of Defense of Poland, a NATO member state, is a potential customer of a new tank.

Multifunctional complex "Romashka" is another joint project, intended to destroy enemy fortifications and live forces, as well as UCAVs, was represented at the international defense industry exhibition MSPO-2017.

In 2016, an agreement on joint participation in the development of new defense projects was signed between the SFTE “Spetstehnoeksport,” SJSHC “Artem” and WB Electronics. The rocket system ZRN-01 Stokrotka Daisy became the first jointly implemented project. It uses highly effective 80 mm rocket-propelled projectiles – manufactured by SJSHC “Artem” – to kill a target. It takes 1-5 projectiles to kill the air targets at a range of up to 5 km – that’s the most effective QPR solution.

To develop the complex, the project participants organized cooperation of the leading enterprises of their countries. This allowed to integrate the most up-to-date developments in the fields of rocket and missile engineering, radar, air defense control and coordination systems and systems for detecting and tracking targets in the optical range.

The fruitful negotiation process during the exhibition resulted in a series of new signed agreements. The State Concern "UkrOboronProm", namely UOP enterprises-participants – SFTE “Spetstehnoeksport and ” SJSHC “Artem”, signed an agreement with the Polish company WB Electronics on the further development of the bilateral consortium, as well as the new contract for manufacture of medium-range R-27-R1 air-to-air missiles for the Polish Air Force. New agreements were signed with Polish company PGZ. This document defines a new level of cooperation in many defense industry sectors of the two countries, as well as the exchange of experience, technologies and joint development of innovations.

Specialists of Ukroboronprom reached agreement on restart of the joint project with the Polish company Lubawa S.A. Lubawa S.A. management assured UKROBORONPROM of its readiness to provide all the necessary package of technologies for the manufacture of special camouflage for armored vehicles and body armor. In turn, the State Concern is ready to expand production of the given products at the capacities of Ukrainian enterprises.

It should be noted that the special camouflage from Lubawa S.A. – is a multi-spectral camouflage net that is already actively used by the Polish Army. It blocks any signals in the thermal vision and radio range, so that any object – armored vehicles, checkpoint or command point – becomes almost invisible to the enemy.
