The State Concern "UkrOboronProm" offered Transparency International – global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption – to participate in the reform of the Concern. This offer was made during the meeting of "Ukroboronprom" leadership and Defence Corruption Monitoring Committee, created by "Transparency International-UK" and "Transparency International Ukraine".
"We find the sector and explore it, find problems and give our recommendations, insisting their implementation."UkrOboronProm" is a major factor in Ukraine’s defense and today it is being reformed. We are confident that we will find common ground and start our cooperation", – said co-chair of the committee Drago Kos, former head of the Council of Europe’s anti-corruption body GRECO and acting chairman of the OECD Working Group on Bribery.
It should be mentioned that Oleh Rybachuk – Chairman of the Centre UA, one of originators of the movement "Chesno," the former Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Head of the Presidential Administration – is one of the heads of the Committee. Editor in chief of IP " Ukrayins’ka Pravda" Sevhil’ Musayeva-Borovyk, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Volodymyr Ohryzko, Deputy Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine; British Army Lieutenant General Timothy Paul Evans, former commander of the Rapid Reaction Corps, NATO and others are the members of the Independent Defence Anti-Corruption Committee.
"UkrOboronProm" expands cooperation with NATO and is moving towards integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions. Such cooperation is the key to successful reform of the military-industrial complex, which is one of the main objectives of the State Concern"- said UKROBORONPROM Director General Roman Romanov during the meeting.
Implementation of the state defense order in 2016 – as of December 19 – is 99% and 1% is already on the way and will be transferred in the last week of December. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Igor Pavlovsky, during the final meeting on the results of 2016, held at the State Concern “UkrOboronProm.”
