AN-132 WILL BE POWERED BY ONE OF THE WORLD’S BEST ENGINES – UKROBORONPROM

An-132 aircraft will be powered by a new version of the PW150A turboprop engine. The relevant memorandum was signed by UKROBORONPROM SE “Antonov” and Pratt & Whitney Canada (P & WC), the manufacturer of these engines. Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place during the International Aerospace Salon "FARNBOROUGH AIRSHOW-2016″, UK.

“We are delighted to be working with Antonov on its AN-132 production program after having provided the OEM with PW150A engines for the AN-132D DEMO aircraft last fall,” said John Saabas, President, P&WC, adding that the PW150 delivers unequalled value to multi-purpose aircraft AN-132, offering exceptional payload capacity, fuel efficiency, environmental performance and low-cost maintenance.

The AN-132 – intended for short- and medium-haul routes – will have varied use, from troop transport to cargo and can be outfitted with a variety of cabin configurations. The aircraft will have a maximum cruising speed of 500 kilometers per hour and a maximum cruising altitude of 9,000 meters with a maximum payload of 9.2 tonnes. The AN-123D demonstrator will be developed by Antonov , together with Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.

Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Canada was signed in Kyiv by First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv and Minister of International Trade of Canada Chrystia Freeland.

Farnborough Airshow-2016 is the exhibition of aircraft of all types and purposes, aerospace engines, satellites, aircraft repair and maintenance, radar and surveillance systems, avionics and ground equipment, etc. Being the largest expo in the UK, the exhibition is held every two years and is one of the major ones in the world.
