BTR-3DA prototype – modern military equipment that is in service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – refills the display at the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. UKROBORONPROM enterprise SE "Kyiv Armored Plant" – direct manufacturer – has delivered the prototype to museum.
Soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine and military units from the ATO zone attended the event of military equipment transfer. Visitors can see the new UKROBORONPROM and Kyiv Armored Plant exhibit in the central square of the Memorial complex.
At the end of the year 2014, BTR-3 has reinforced Ukrainian army in the ATO zone. During the first year of its operation in the combat zone, almost 740 changes in design of the vehicle were made, shortcomings were removed and its combat effectiveness was increased.
As a result, in November 2015 improved BTR-3DA was adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is faster than previous modifications, with improved protection of the crew, optoelectronic module with television and thermal imaging channels, allowing to conduct military operations at night. Installed engine of German company "Deutz" (360 hp) improved maneuver effectiveness and cross-country capability of BTR-3DA. Weighting 16.5 tons, BTR-3DA speeds up to 104 km / h.
From now on, the sample of national defence equipment – designed and manufactured in independent Ukraine – joined the exhibition “War-winning weapon”.
