UKRAINE AND TURKEY WILL ENHANCE COOPERATION IN PRODUCTION OF MILITARY EQUIPMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH NATO STANDARDS

Ukraine and Turkey have agreed to deepen cooperation in military-technical sphere. Turkish Deputy Minister of Defence, Suay Alpay, and UKROBORONPROM top management approved a joint action plan in this regard during the meeting at the International Exhibition "DSA 2016".

"Turkey is one of the main UKROBORONPROM strategic partners. Together with Turkey, the Concern will implement NATO standards and produce modern military equipment," – said the head of the State Concern Roman Romanov.

According to him, transition to international standards in the production of arms and military equipment is one of the priorities of Ukrainian defense industry. Turkey is a NATO member, so this experience will allow Ukraine to deepen military-technical cooperation with NATO countries.

In the framework of the strategy "Ukrainian shield" UKROBORONPROM focuses on high-tech production, transition to international standards (NATO) and supplying the army with modern types of armaments.

UKROBORONPROM has already implemented many joint projects with Turkish companies. The closest cooperation is in the fields of armored, aviation and naval equipment.

Participation in such events as "DSA-2016″ is an important aspect for successful development of any industry, and Ukrainian defence industry has always been one of the best in the world and continues representing its innovative developments at the largest expos.

International Defence Exhibition and Conference “DSA-2016” is one of the most prestigious military expos of the Eastern region. "Defence Services Asia" is held every two years since 1988. This year it will be held from 18 to 21 April.

UKROBORONPROM represented dummy version of air missiles, new models of armored vehicles and legendary main battle tank “OPLOT”, the system of optical-electronic suppression “Adros,” automatic guns and mortars. Military and manufacturers from different countries showed considerable interest in specimens of modern armored “Dozor-B”, located at the main entrance to the exhibition hall.

The United States, France, Great Britain, Belarus, Russia and Asian manufacturers will demonstrate their achievements at “DSA 2016.”
