UKROBORONPROM develops in the context of global processes in the world market. The State Concern is further expanding cooperation with NATO and the EU, as defined by the strategic course of the state. This was stated by UKROBORONPROM Deputy Director General of Foreign Economic Activity Denis Gurak during his interview on the radio.
He explained that for the country this strategy is about transition to NATO standards not for the army operation only, but also for military equipment production and maintenance.
"Over the past year and a half, we noticed great interest of Western countries – mainly Europe and the US – for defense industry cooperation, as our technology, traditionally, is more ruggedized. For example, "Antonov" transport aircrafts can land on ice and sand, as they were specifically designed for use in severe environments, while transport aircrafts of other countries were not. Domestic tanks were designed for operation at temperatures from -40 to +50 degrees ", – he told.
That is why, according to Dennis Gurak, the world market needs Ukrainian military equipment and is interested in it.
In 2015, the total value of UKROBORONPROM’s export contracts amounts to more than $ 1.3 billion.
